Ontonagon Lighthouse
(continued) "In 1875, a pier light was added and became fully automated by 1890. The lighthouse was deactivated and the fifth order Fresnel lens became the property of the Ontonagon County Historical Society. Today, the Historical Society continues to renovate the light and provides tours daily."
Tours begin at the museum in downtown Ontonagon where the facilities vehicle transports you to the other side of the river where the lighthouse is located. Be sure to tell Bruce that we sent you.
